Did you ever wonder why the photos taken with your cell phone look so bad? There could be several reasons why. The most obvious reason is the one most overlooked. Have you bothered to clean the lens lately? I have a Motorola that sits in my pocket most of the time and it is amazing how much lint and dirt collects on the lens. Here are two examples taken with this camera phone one clean and one with the lens covered in dirt. You can tell that the bottom photo lacks any contrast or detail because the lens is so dirty. The top one is the same scene with the lens clean. The contrast is higher and there is much more detail. So if you want to make decent photos with your camera phone, clean the lens first.
