We had a nice trip over to St. Pete to visit the Dali Museum this morning. There are some weird images floating around in this place. The best stuff were Halisman's images of Dali. The Dali and Cat's was awesome although the print quality was not up to the standards of many folks. I finished hanging the new winter show at Cape Ann Coffees yesterday. There are nine images up and two more have been printed and will be hung tomorrow or Sat. afternoon. Two of the images are a stunning 16" x 24" and six are a wonderful size of 14" x 20". The interest has been high according to the owner and everyone that has seen it has been impressed.

Cape Ann Coffee's in Gloucester will be showing eight or nine pieces of my work from the book Cape Ann in the Off Season. This was a fun one to do. I slipped out onto the ice at Wenham Lake to watch these guys and quickly realized I needed my pull on crampons to navigate. I spotted this image as I was coming back from another assignment in Gloucester and decided to pull over in a rush at St. Peter's Sq. and make the shot. This image was created with the same lighting setup as the post below. The only difference is that the strobe off to the right of the frame created a little hazing which is still evident. This was caused by the player moving toward the corner where the strobe was. I was a ble to increase the contrast to get rid of most of the haze. Shooting basketball can be challenging if the lighting in the gym is poor. I was lucky in this instance because the lighting was not that bad. I was able to shoot at 250 sec at 3.5 at ISO 800. On a recent trip to San Francisco we had a day to enjoy the Fisherman's Wharf area. I had a blast looking for interesting scenes. This interesting shot presented itself with the wall ad overlooking the area. It was shot with a Canon 10D and a Canon 70-200 f2.8 set at about 170. It was shot in Raw mode and processed in C1 SE. I added a little more warmth and did a little crop but that's all.

Today I am posting a photo of my 102 year old grandmother. She has been a wonder to all of us in my family. This photo was taken in July of this year and since then has fallen and broken her hip. This image was made in January of 2004. The water and air temperature were not even close. The air temp. was -9 degrees F and the water temp. was around +40 degrees F. I missed the sunrise which was spectacular with the warm light but the light was still gorgeous at 9:00 A.M. This past Saturday the 20th of October I had the chance to photograph a hanging cold front that produced and incredible stationary cloud formation. My son called and alerted me to this awesome site and my wife an I charged right out to look for a suitable spot to shoot it. We ended up at Granite pier in Rockport which gave us some height over the water and some interesting foreground subjects.
